Welder-Fabricator

Job Description

A Welder-Fabricator combines welding and fabrication skills to build metal structures and components from raw material through to a finished, welded assembly.

You work from technical drawings to mark out, cut, and shape steel or aluminium sections, fit and tack components into position, and complete structural welds using MIG/MAG or TIG processes. You check finished assemblies for squareness, dimensional accuracy, and weld quality, and grind and finish welds to the required standard before parts move to painting, coating, or assembly.

This role suits someone with strong all-round fabrication skills: cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding, plus the ability to read technical drawings and work independently. A recognised welding certificate and VCA certification are typically required.
