Job Description
A MIG/MAG Welder joins metal components using the MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding process, working across fabrication, construction, and industrial production projects.
You read welding drawings (WPS) to understand joint types, weld sizes, and materials, set up welding equipment and parameters for each job, and produce clean, structurally sound welds in various positions. You inspect completed welds for defects, grind and finish welds to specification, and follow safety procedures around fumes, sparks, and equipment at all times.
A recognised welding certificate (such as NEN-EN 287 or equivalent) is generally required, along with experience welding steel, stainless steel, or aluminium depending on the project. VCA certification is standard for most sites.
